I love Animals ♥

Hello bloggers!

I’m a person who really loves animals, I think they’re one of the most beautiful things that we can find in the world. Have you ever think about what animal would you like to be? Well, I'd love to be a black panter, they’re so fast, beautiful and stylish!

In my house we have pets. They are two really-big-dogs but they’re so cute at the same time! and they protect our family and house. I have them since many years, when I was a child they already lived with us! so they are just like part of the family, and I love them.

In Chile, there are some organizations worried about animal abuse and endangered species. This country has a lot of endangered species by many reasons, one of them is the gradual disappearance of their natural habitat due all the pollution caused by ourselves.

Some persons uses animals as an accesory or stetical things, and that’s something I can’t understand. I think that’s the worst thing someone could do, because it has no sense, it’s something superficial and stupid.

I feel really sad because humans never learn things. We always treat animals as something inferior, and that’s not right. I think animal rights are one of the most intelligent things humans have done, and we should respect them, we should have more education about this topic, and create animal conscience because I think animals are one of the most noble creatures in this world. If they could make a movie about all this situation, I think they would watch us as a really weird species, without many feelings and without many brain. I think the first thing they would question is: “why are they wearing clothes?” haha. But I don’t think they have anger or something like that against us, I’m sure they feel sorry for us in some way.

That's all! See you and protect animals!

Environment, I'm so sorry :(

Hello friends!

I was thinking about my “green conscience” and then I noticed I have a very little respect for nature. I can blame my family for this, because they have never shown any interest on this things. I try to be conscious sometimes -I’m the one who turns off the lights in rooms that no-one uses, for example-, but I think this actions aren’t enough.

I would like to do more things, but I feel that living with my parents doesn’t help. I would like to change their mind a lot, and that we all could do real actions, like recycling or helping with eco-organizations. Obviously, a lot of this is my responsability, because I’m not the tree-hugger kind of person, I’m actually a green-in-between, especially in my beliefs, but not really in my actions.

Well, not everything is that bad. My brother worked a lot on Green Peace, trying to catch new members and giving some money for the cause. I learned a lot about the organization with him, and when I earn money, I will colaborate with it without any doubt.

Also, maybe my biggest input with environment is that I love trees, and I like to care about the plants of my garden. I always give them water or some fertilizers. Besides, me and my brother recycle paper every month. Either, I walk a lot and use public transport, because I don’t have a bike (I’d love to have one) and because I live really far from almost everything haha.

I can give just a final reflection of all this. I think we don’t even think about environment, energy or animals because we think they will last forever, and we don’t think about them as an equal (or something that we depend of), but an inferior or irrelevant topic. It’s really sad because I think this is something that the society teaches us since we are born, there isn’t a real preocupation for the environment, we just have to turn on the TV and watch no-existant programs about this topic. I think our society, era and politics are the responsible. They should do their work and create conscience, give environmental education to the people, I don’t think it’s really difficult to put recycling containers for paper, plastic and glass, for example.

Well, that’s everything.

Bye :)

I think I'm in love with music

Hello bloggers!

Sometimes I feel so good while I’m listening to music. For example, this week has been really stressing, but when I have free moments, no matter how small they are, I utilize them listening to music. Those moments are the best, because for me, music is one of the reasons I smile, I think about my life, and I feel happy. I think I’m in love with music, some artist for me are like God, and I can’t imagine my life without listening to a new song or enjoying an old one.

I listen to many kind of music and bands, I love since The Beatles to Calle 13, I’m not really sure if the music I like have a common factor, maybe they share one condition: they have to have specials lyrics, and they have to make me smile.

I’m particulary in love with “Indie” music, it’s a large gender and contians a lot of different bands, specially british bands with a unique aesthetic. At this time, my favorite band is The Strokes (but I have had many favorite bands, like Muse). I love The Strokes because they’re a brilliant band, they are very good musicians but irreverent at the same time, and I really love their aesthetic. I just think they’re genious. Also, I’m kind of falling in love with Björk now, specially I love her new album “Biophilia”.

I don’t have a favorite song, that’s really difficult for me, but I would like to talk about “Evening Sun” from The Strokes. This song is really relaxing, sad and happy at the same time. It makes me think a lot when I listen to it, I think about my life because I find so much meaning on the lyrics and sometimes I even feel reflected on it, like... when you feel that you syntonice with the singer, or something like that.

So, as you may notice, I really feel in love with music, talking about it excites me haha, I think music reflects a part of a person and maybe that’s the importance of it. Nietzsche said one time: “without music, life would be a mistake”, and I totally agree with him.

Girls 'more resilient' than boys at school

Hello, today I’m going to talk about an interesting article I have read.

It’s a recent discovery that reveals something very impresive: that at school, girls are more resilient than boys. What does this mean? That girls try to prevent feeling bad when they have problems at their home (that’s resilence) because that could affect their behaviour at school.

A study showed a tendency on girls from UK schools to have better marks than their male classmates. To explain this, the educational researchers had talked about a variety of factors connected to physiology and environment, even saying thay boys are more resistant to educational system inherently. But there isn’t any solid evidence.

Instead, they found that boys from a no-traditional family estructure, displayed more behavioural and self-control problems in the school. The girls from a single-parent family doesn’t show this behaviour as strong as boys, and this diference is a mistery for the professors and educators. As Marianne Bertrand (study co-author) says, “the parental input just becomes more relevant for the boys than for the girls”.

She states that this isn’t an attempt to stigmatize single parents. Is a relevant fact because home background is an estructure really important, and it seems that it makes more difference to boys than to girls, as Dylan Wiliam -professor of educational assessment at London University's Institute of Education- says. "It could be that girls are more resilient, but then also less able to take advantage of the very strong effects of positive parenting" he claims.

I think this is really important to psychology because family estructures and gender could be decisive factors on the development of students, and their quality of life.

Right to Die?

Hello bloggers :D

Today I’m going to talk about a controversial topic: Euthanasia. The first time I heard about it, I thought it was a respetable practice.

The case of Craig Ewert is one of the most famous, he was a man who lived on England and had to travel to Switzerland to euthanasia. He had the same disease that has Stephen Hawking, and they made a documental called: “Right to Die?”. Here goes a link:

I don't really have a religion, but catholicism is my family's religion and they say euthanasia is something against God’s will. I think this is something without arguments because they also say God gave us the right to take decisions, so you shouldn’t be seen like a sinner if you practice it.

Also, the chilean government has a traditional way of thinking and penalizes this practice. I think this is concordant with all the stupid things they do and with their intolerance. I wish one day this practice could be legal, because it’s really difficult for an average person to travel to another country just to die.

I think we should empathize with the persons who would like to stop suffering a disease, they take a difficult decision because they leave their family, friends and dreams. I guess we shouldn’t make them more problems, they already suffer a lot, so I agree with euthanasia because I think is a right we all have.

Finland, the place I'd love to visit

Hello! today I’m going to talk about one of my dreams, and that’s travelling around the world.
The country I have always wanted to visit is Finland. Why? That’s easy, because is one of the countries ubicated in the Arctic Circle, it means that if you go to this country, you’ll see one day when the sun will be above the horizon for 24 continous hours, and another day when the sun will be below the horizon for an entire day.

I know a lot of things about Finland, it’s a country situated on the Northern Europe, there are no many persons on there. This country has one of the most beautiful nature, boreal landscapes and a lot of snow. The weather is always cold, they don’t have more than 20ºC on summer, and it reaches frozen temperatures on winter, even below -40ºC. Also, is one of the most prosperous countries of the region, the country has a highly dremocratic political and they don’t have corruption.

I would like to go to that country one day, and learn their lenguage and manners. I’d like to visit many landscapes and take a lot of pictures, because I imagine this place is amazing. If I’d have the oportunity, I’d like to live there, because since I was a little girl, I loved all the countries with arctic climate.

That's everything! :)

I love movies!

Hi bloggers, how are you? Hope you’re fine. I’m almost sure that all of you know Cuevana. The amazing heaven of free online movies. Well, I’m a fan of this website because I don’t really like going to Cinema, and it’s just sad when you watch a movie and it’s extremely boring and then you noticed that you paid for it. I’m not sure if you have felt this, but wasting your time and your money is something that messes everyone around.

So, as you may predict, most of the time I watch movies online or I download them, but I don’t really like to do this last. To watch a movie, I waste a minute or two as the movie charges at Cuevana, then I close the door of my room, close the curtains and everything is black. I have my own cinema in 5 minutes for free.

Cuevana has a lot of movies, and I have seen chileans films too, but I don’t really like them. My favourite is a japanese film called “Spirited Away”. It’s an animation film, all characters are created by Hayao Miyazaki. It’s a fantasy-adventure film, it has a lot of magic, mysticism and characters related to japanese culture. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I love it. I’ve seen this like ten times and I never get bored (and I’m sure I never will). I totally recommend this film, if you want to travel around a new fantasy world, you must watch Spirited Away.

So, the movies I like are all the sensitive ones, movies with a message, or movies that talk about the life of an inspirational person, like biographycs movies. I hate all common american films, with cheerleaders and stuff. I don’t think they really send a message, so that’s why I don’t really like them.

Sometimes I think I’d like to make a film about my life, but it wouldn’t be really great. My life is almost common, I’ve lived great and bad times, as everyone, so maybe my movie would reflect the evolution of my mind and my soul, meeting new persons and learning how to live without making anyone suffer.

So that's everything, see you later!
